Product Development Research
We conduct product clinics for durable goods such as motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, personal watercraft, utility vehicles, automobiles, lawn and garden tractors and household appliances. We do this throughout the United States and other countries as well. Studies focus on various aspects of product design research including concept evaluation, consumer design preferences, strengths, weaknesses, image, pricing and volume assessment. Data are collected via respondent-administered, hand-held computers. Product clinics are ideal places to conduct new product design research.
We conduct pricing studies using full profile and choice-based conjoint research designs to address a wide range of price related questions. We can design output to allow "what-if" price scenario simulations, profit maximization strategies, options bundling strategies, price sensitivity curves and more. We are also experienced with other pricing research strategies such as the Van Westendorp PSM, brand-price tradeoff (BPTO) and rotated monadic designs. Much of our product design research includes a pricing component.
What is our brand awareness and image? What personality characteristics does our brand maintain? How does our brand fit with potential product line extensions? These are research issues we regularly deal with.
Event-based research is an effective way to identify and interview people with high-involvement in your product category. Auto shows, motorcycle events, races, car cruises, and home & garden shows all provide wonderful venues for finding high-involvement consumers who are more than willing to participate in brief product design research exercises. We are expert at on-site intercept screening and interviewing strategies.
Most product development research requires far more than a simple written questionnaire to execute. We have extensive experience generating materials to describe new and existing concepts to respondents including...
-- Tablets for data collection in product clinics and event surveys
-- description booklets incorporating text, photos and drawings
-- custom video editing
-- descriptive poster boards
-- competitive products, including cars, motorcycles, ATVs, PWCs and more.
